Glen Alvis Porter

Glen Alvis Porter, 53 of Davin, WV departed this life on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from Dignity Hospice House in Chapmanville, WV.

Born September 6, 1965 at Logan, he was the son of the late Archie Porter and Lula (Canterbury) Newsome.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Wanda Rakes, Tookie Porter and Janet Osborne.

Glen was a loving son, dad, brother, uncle and friend.  He loved hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers in the mountains, and socializing with family and friends.  Glen had a very special hunting buddie, his big brother David Porter whom he did everything with, especially riding four wheelers.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Glen and to mourn his passing include his three brothers: David (Melba) Porter of Davin, Archie (Barbara Blackburn) of Sun Hill, Bill Porter of Davin; two sisters: Marsha (Donnie) Messer of Indiana, Judy Porter of Chapmanville; his son: Brody Chance Porter of Davin; his daughter: McKinlee Cheyenne Porter of Davin; three very special care givers: Tosha Belcher, Donnie Gibson and Bill Porter; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.  Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm at the church with the Rev. PJ Tomblin officiating.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV.

Glen will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.

He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
