Gregory "Butch" Davis

Gregory (Butch) Davis, 68, of Coal Mountain, WV closed his eyes on Earth and opened them in Heaven on October 19th, 2021.

Butch Davis was born on June 20th 1953, in Welch, West Virginia, to the late Corrine and Jeep Davis.

He was a retired coal miner/carpenter and an active member of Coal Mountain Community Church. Butch never met a stranger and would give up all he had for those he loved. He was his family’s protector, leader, and refuge. He was larger than life and has impacted all who have met him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Rita Davis. Two children, Krista (Fred) Warrix of Coal Mountain and Greg Davis of Monroe, NC. Five grandchildren, Haven and Abram Davis of Salisbury, NC, Brooke, Braylee, and Bryce Warrix of Coal Mountain. Four sisters, Jeanie (Mike) Rhodes of Brenton, Peggy Davis of Alabama, Donna Mae (Butch) Puett of Coal Mountain, and Anita (Gene) Mullins of Beckley. Butch will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A private service for immediate family only will be held.  Burial will follow at the Coal Mountain Community cemetery.

His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.

The family requests that all who attend the services practices social distancing and wear facial masks.
