Greta Ann Cline

Greta Ann Cline, 47 of Baisden, WV departed this life Sunday, October 13, 2024.  Born on May 16, 1977, in Man, WV, she was the daughter of Mary (Cline) Hooper and the late Morris Hatfield.

In addition to her father Greta is preceded in death by her loving husband: Erick Cline; and many friends who she considered her family.

Greta was a devoted wife and mother. On the weekends, you could find her riding Harley’s with her husband and their dear friends or at the racetrack watching her son race his dirt-track car. Ranse was and will always be “mommy’s baby”, she was beyond proud to be his mother and made certain that everyone knew it.

Even on the worst of days, Greta’s contagious smile could light up a room.  She loved everyone and never met a stranger.  She was blessed to have a very special mother and father-in-law who treated her as a daughter from a very young age.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her son: Ranse (Amanda) Cline of Bull Creek, WV; her grand-dog: Chloe Belle Cline; her mother and step dad: Mary and Bill Hooper of Baisden, WV and High Point, NC; her in-laws, who were more like her parents: Rhonda and Donnie “Crockett” West of Baisden, WV; brothers: Bartley (Angela) Hatfield of Baisden, WV, Brett (Yesi) and daughter, Rebecca Hatfield, all of High Point, NC; sister-in-law: Leety (Glenn) Beverly, daughter Morgan (Dalton) Lester and granddaughter, Alsaska, all of Horsepen, WV; her fiancé and his family Eddie Dotson of Hurley, VA; three honorary children who she loved as her own: Kaitlyn Ellis, Dillon Ellis, and Caity (Matt) Kennedy all of Baisden, WV; two children who she treated as her grandchildren: Jerzee and Gideon Kennedy of Baisden, WV; nieces and nephews: Sabrina and Britney Martinez, Joey Wolford & his children, Nikki Ferrel & son, Haley, Layla, and Austin Hatfield, Ashley Cline & her children, Robert Cline & his children.  She also leaves behind a host of other dear family and friends that will always remember her joyous smile and the impact she had on their lives.

Friends may gather with the family Friday, October 18, 2024, from 6:00 till 9:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11:00 am with Rev. Jonas Trent officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cline Cemetery at Spring Fork, WV.

Greta will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: Jeremy May, Matt Kennedy, Kevin Goad, Mark Cline, Dillon Ellis, Brett and Bartley Hatfield.  Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Blevins, Allen Cline, Chris Dotson.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
