Greta (Cline) Owens

Greta (Cline) Owens, 84 of Gilbert, WV departed this life Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from her residence.  Born May 17, 1940, at Baisden, WV she was the daughter of the late Hazel (Hatfield) and Raymond Cline.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband: Robert “Bob” Owens; daughter: Glenetta “Sissy” Owens; companion: Jimmy “Big Jim” Hatfield.
Greta was a retired Cosmetologist.  She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and crocheting, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.  She was of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her daughter: Robin Owens (Jason Dickerson) of Lorado, WV; son: William David (Dana) Owens of Baisden, WV; grandchildren: Jerome (Chelsea) Owens of Ripley, WV, Daniel Owens of Winfield, WV; Taylor Owens of Baisden, WV, great grandchildren: Dawson Owens and Ella Davis, both of Ripley, WV; brother: Jerry (Glenda) Cline of Baisden, WV; sister: Brenda (Charles) Hutzler of Kingston, TN; special caregivers: Betty Ellis, Traci Belcher, and Shawn “The Mailman” Sansom.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Monday, November 11, 2024, from 11:00 am till 12:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 12:00 pm with Bishop Anthony Hudgins officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Logan, WV.
Greta will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: Raymond and Matthew Hutzler, A.J. Cline, Daniel and Jerome Owens, Jason Dickerson.  Honorary pallbearers are Phillip Hatfield, Burl Moore, Michael Blankenship, Louie Vanover, Raymond Lee Lester, Mike Mounts, Randy Dye, and Tom Dickerson.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
