Helen (Lester) Carter

Helen Carter, 72 of Justice WV departed this life, Thursday March 19th, 2026. Born March 14, 1954, in Gusses Fork VA, she was the daughter of the late Linia Matney and Jack Lester.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Dallas Carter; her daughter: Joanna Lester; her brothers: Jim, Elbert, and Arnold Lester; her sisters: Freda Lester and Betty Cantrell.

Helen was of the Christian Faith. She loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed spending every moment she was able to in church. The love she had for her children was unconditional!

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her sons: Dennie Ray Lester Jr, and Cletis Ray Lester both of Justice ; grandchildren: Denny Ray Lester III of Charleston, Kayleigh (Jacob) Herzner of Charleston, Kayla (Justin) Barrentine of Charleston, and Cameron (Alexa) Lester of Charleston; great grandchildren Reagan Herzner, Jacob Herzner Jr, Michael Mills, and Emma Mills all of Charleston; brother : Freddy Lester of VA ; sister: Charlotte (Burb Jr.) Wolford of Ben Creek; special people dear to her heart: Melissa Lester and Dustin (Squirt) Lester; special friend: Aundrea Horn. She also left behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 12:00 till 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery at Neds Branch, Gilbert, WV.

Helen will be carried to her final resting place by those who cherished her most.

Her beautiful and wonderful heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
