Alice “Helen” Neace 81, of North Spring, WV passed away peacefully at Logan General Hospital on October 10, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer.
Helen was born on May 23, 1942, in Neds Branch, WV to the late Millard Filmore and Dovie (Waybright) Neace. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Robert "Bob" Patterson; several of her siblings. Sisters: Rosie Neace, Ruby (Dick) Wilson, Lou (Burb) Wolford, Stella (Bunk) Baize Blessit, twins Shirley and Mandy Neace, and one brother Franklin (Liddie) Neace.
Surviving siblings are Mary Grimmett of Hanover, WV, Betty Stephenson of Sneads Ferry, NC, Carol Neace, Louisa, KY, and Filmore Neace, of Wyoming, WV.
Helen was a born-again Christian who loved the Lord. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved fishing and spending time outdoors tending to her flowers and garden. Helen was a strong woman who would help you anyway she could if needed. She had an amazing way of making people feel loved and appreciated.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her children: Deborah Patterson of North Spring, WV, Robert (Melissa) Patterson of Hanover, WV, Susan (Eddie) McClure of South Point, OH, and Mark (Crystal) Neace of Pittsfield, ME.
Helen had five grandchildren: Mark Neace Jr of Pittsfield, ME, Channing (Alisha) Patterson of Lynco, WV, Levi (Kelly) Patterson of Simon, WV, Angel Brown of South Point, OH, and Cindy (Nick) Stone of South Charleston, WV.
Great grandchildren are: Bently Wiley, Skyler Stone, Alma Stone, Jamison Stone, Wesson Patterson, and Jaylynn Patterson.
Special mention are friends Johnny and Anetta Blankenship, Julie Bailey, Matthew Bailey, and the late Susanne Pierce and Janice Jackson.
Friends may gather with the family on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Cab Wolford officiating.
Burial will follow in the Patterson Family Cemetery in North Spring, WV up Swampfork Road.
Helen will be carried to rest by pallbearers: Robert Patterson, Mark Neace, Channing Patterson, Levi Patterson, Shawn Neace, and Kip Neace.
Her care and kindness will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
