Iris Daphene (Walker) Browning

Iris Daphene (Walker) Browning, 62 of Lebanon Junction, KY, went home to be with her Lord, and many loved ones on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from her residence.

Born on July 25, 1957 in Logan, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Earnestine (Browning) Walker of Christian, WV.

In addition to her parents, Daphene was also preceded in death by her sister: Diana Caldwell; her mother and father-in-law: Rev. Donnie and Ruby Browning; brother-in-law: Timmy F. Davis; her great niece: Emily; sister-in-law: Linda Browning.

Daphene loved working with her flowers and taking care of her home, she enjoyed dealing with “snaps” and “Paparazzi” jewelry.  She traveled in earlier years with her sisters, “The Walker Sister’s” ministering in song, in many churches and gospel singings in the area.  Daphene was of the Baptist Faith.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandbabies and great grandbabies.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her husband of 21 years: Douglas Browning, of the home; daughters: Kelly (Eddie) Lampton of Leitchfield, KY, and Brittany Walker of Fairmont, WV; son: Brian Hatfield of Norfolk, VA; stepson: Brad (Cinda) Browning of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren: Ethan Hatfield, Brandon Allen, Larissa Bozio and Alexandria Bennett; three great grandchildren: James Michael Allen, Jayden Bozio and Haley Bennet; sisters: Darlene Davis of Abingdon, VA, Claudette (Michael) VanNatter of Christian, WV and Missy (Dwayne) Whitt of Greenville, WV; brother-in-law who like a brother: Archie (Cary) Caldwell; special friends: Kresta Brown, Michelle Mullins Vest; best friend: Faye Davis.  Daphene leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Monday July 27, 2020 from 6 till 9:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, where funeral services will commence Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Gary Browning, Rev. Michael Browning officiating.  Opening and closing prayers will be given by Rev. Michael VanNatter and Rev. David Browning.  Burial will follow in the Browning-Dye Cemetery at Verner, WV.

Daphene will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends.

Her wonderful smile, laughter, and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
