Jack “Pedro” Donovan Hill, 87, of Delbarton, WV departed this life Thursday, October 30, 2025, from Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY following a brief illness.
Born February 17th, 1938, in War Eagle, WV, he was the son of the late William “Bill” and Garnet (Ferrell) Hill.
In addition to his parents, Pedro is preceded in death by his brother: Johnny Hill; sister: Diana (Duke) Dotson; and sister-in-law: Opal Hill.
Pedro had a passion for electronics and video games and loved his cats very much. He passed the time tending to the vegetables and flowers in his garden but enjoyed talking to and spending time with his family and friends the most. Pedro gave his life to the Lord after many kind visits and the ministering of Rev. Ralphy Manual and Pee-wee Gibson during his final years. He was very grateful for their kindness and ministries.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his brothers: Charles Hill of Forest Hill, WV, James (Sharron) Hill of Wharncliffe, WV, sister-in-law: Phylis Hill of Lavalette, WV; and a host of other dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Special recognition to his cousin Johnny Ray (Orvetta) Ferrell of Ohio who kept in touch by wiring numerous cards and letters throughout the years; and his nephews Rodney (Louann) Hill of Lavalette, WV, Kevin (Lagina) Dotson of Rush, KY, and Travis (Stacy) Hill of South Carolina who would often visit him in his final years.
Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 12 pm for visitation at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV with funeral services to begin at 1 pm with Pastor Danny Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Dotson-Toler Cemetery at Wharncliffe, WV.
Jack will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.
We would like to also extend a special thank you to the staff of Williamson ARH Skilled Nursing for their excellent care, compassion, and love for Pedro during his final years while in their care. His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
