James Walter “Jim” Brown, 68 of Baisden, WV departed this life on Friday, January 17, 2020 from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born March 23, 1951 at Williamson, WV he was the son of the late Faye Brown Ryan.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his grandparents whom raised him: Clifton & Rose Brown; mother-in-law: Geneva Shands; brother-in-law: Gregory Cline.
Jim was a member of the Justice Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider and enjoyed taking his sons squirrel hunting. Jim served his country in the Army from 1969 – 1972. He always had a smile and a warm greeting anytime you would see him.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Jim and to mourn his passing include his loving wife who never left his side: Katrina Cline Brown of Baisden; two sons: James Travis Brown and Gregory Tyler & Stephanie Brown both of Baisden; two grandsons: James Samuel Brown and Benson Tyler Brown both of Baisden; step-granddaughter: Alexis Neece; sister & brother in law: Jim and Linda Nagy of Gilbert; special niece: Stephanie & Keith Poe of Gilbert; special nephew: Jimbo & Shanna Nagy of Gilbert; Nieces: April Cline, Ally Haywood, Mallory McKean and Chelsea McKean ; Great nieces and nephews: Will Poe, Hollie Nagy, Jake Nagy and Sarah Nagy; sister: Theresa Fessenden of Delbarton; aunt: Lucille Matney of Delbarton; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Justice Missionary Baptist Church at Justice, WV from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will commence on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the church with the Rev. Jim Nagy and Rev. Timer May officiating. Military Honors will be provided by DAV Chapter 141 Belfry Kentucky.
Burial will follow in the Justice Memorial Gardens, Justice, WV.
Jim will be carried to his final resting place by: Jimbo Nagy, Keith Poe, Will Poe, Scotty Sammons, Brandon Sammons, Tommy Sammons, Travis Brown and Tyler Brown.
Honorary pallbearers include: Joe Dale New, Duane Adkins, Mike Adkins, Jim Nagy, Timer May, Robert Billups, Melvin Brooks Jr., Davis McKean, Ronnie Stepp and Samuel Cline.
He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
