James Porter “Junior” Perry, 73 of Isaban, WV passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, with his loving family by his side. 

Born June 18, 1952, at Mohawk, WV, to the late James Porter and Margie (Cline) Perry, Sr.   In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children: Karen Perry; sisters: Lola Kaholakula, Vincenta Cline, Elsa Ann Moore, and Betty Jo Baker; brother: Ray Perry.

Junior was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life centered around family, faith, and the outdoors. 

Junior worked many years as a coal miner and truck driver, providing for his family through hard work and dedication, he loved all things outdoors, especially deer hunting, fishing, and camping with his family, some of his happiest memories were made teaching his grandsons to hunt and fish, taking many of them on their very first outdoor adventures.  He also held a special love for Cape Hatteras, where he enjoyed spending time with those he loved most, a proud family man, Junior never missed an opportunity to be surrounded by family, he especially cherished attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.  To them he was lovingly known as “Paw.”

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his devoted wife/caretaker for 29 years: Donna (Lester) Perry of the home; his children: Starla (Steven) Lester of Isaban, Alicia (Earnest) Blankenship of Panther, Crystal (Neil) St.Clair of Isaban, James (Jennifer) Perry of Isaban, Cynthia (Eric) Dotson of Princeton; step children, whom he loved as his own: Kimberly (Jeremy) Cline of Isaban, Tara Thomason and fiancé Calvin Riffe of Justice; he was the proud grandfather of Jonathan (Danielle)  Lester, Christopher Blankenship, Dalton Lester, Brandon Blankenship, Cody (Emily) St.Clair, Natasha (Branson) Nagy, Jacob (Kalli) St.Clair, Kyla St.Clair, Sierra (Brandon) Jacobs, Karen Perry and fiancé Dalls May, J.R. (Raylee) Perry, Analyse Perry, Danielle Cline and fiancé Joe Chaffin, Caleb Dotson, Bristol Dotson, Ethan Thomason, and Makayla Lester; he was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Kaylee Blankenship and fiancé Mikey Picklesimer, Aliza Blankenship, Wyatt Lester, Alaska Lester, Bryson St.Clair, Sydney St. Clair, Aubree Burton, Isaac Burton, Asher Nagy, Braylon Jacobs, Addison May, Alifar May, Heidi James Perry, and Ella St.Clair; honorary grandson: Easton Blankenship who held a special place in his heart; brothers: Bobby (Sylvia) Perry and Randy (Virginia) Perry; special friend: Earnest “Little Man” Blankenship and companion Savannah Adams.  He leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 12:00 till 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Justice officiating.  Burial will follow in the Four Pole Cemetery at Mohawk, WV.

Junior will be carried to his resting place by his grandsons.

Juniors’ love, guidance, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
