James Russell “Doc” Queen, 69 of Tamcliffe, departed this life Thursday, May 20, 2021 from the Cornerstone Hospital of Huntington, WV.
Born on February 28, 1952 at Landville, he was the son of the late Ivory Johnson and Vera Myrtle (Justice) Queen.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of over 25 yrs: Patricia Diane (Colegrove) Queen; sisters: Barbara Jean Queen and Ola Queen; brother: Van Queen.
James loved to fish and ride his 4-wheeler, he was a person who enjoyed being outdoors. He attended the Tamcliffe Tabernacle Church.
Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his sons: William “Rusty” Mills of Pecks Mill and Jason Queen of Ohio; daughters: Rebecca Queen and Mary Tabler, both of Ohio; grandchildren: Brandon, Ciera, Little Jason, and Adam Queen; numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brothers: Larry Queen of Oceana and Ivory Queen of Indiana; sisters: Nywana Queen and Alice Queen, both of Ohio, Bonnie Adams of Kentucky, and Lotus Jacob of Missouri. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
To honor his request, he was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Gary Browning officiating.
He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
