James Trent

James Trent, 79 of Springfork, Wharncliffe, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from his residence.  Born April 28, 1945, in Springfork, he was the son of the late Ance and Marie (Cline) Trent.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Lois Ann (Hatfield) Trent; granddaughter: Grace Trent; brother: Thomas Ray Trent; sisters: Mable Hatfield and Elsie Ward.

James was a retired Coal Miner.  He was a member of the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He loved to squirrel hunt with his dogs and spend time with his family and friends.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his sons: Nathaniel “Duke” Trent, Joe (Janella) Trent, all of Justice, WV, Johnny Dale Trent and James Don Trent of the home, Wesley Trent; daughter: Katherine Trent, both of Horsepen, WV; grandchildren: Joshua Trent (Keith Cole), Dylan, Abigail, Jacob, Jasmyne Trent, and Elliot Gibbs; sister: Eva Robinette; brother: Dallas Lee Cline; very special friends: Rev. Denny May, Tom White, and James Plymal; his wonderful neighbors: Brenda and Josh Johnson, Eddie Jo and Michelle Cline, Roger and Deloris Hatfield.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Friday, September 20, 2024, in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home from 12:00 till 1:00 pm with services commencing at 1:00 pm with Pastors Denny May and Danny Ward officiating.  Burial will follow in the Trent Family Cemetery at his residence.

James will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Jacob, Joseph, and Joe Dale Trent, James Plymal, Bimbo Hatfield, Eddie Joe and Teddy “Buck” Cline.

Honorary pallbearers are Rev. Denny May, Rev. Danny Ward, Tom White, and Roger Hatfield.

James was loved, and he will be greatly missed by many.
