James "Jim" Richard Browning

James “Jim” Richard Browning, 84 of Hanover, departed this life Thursday, May 13, 2021 from Trinity Healthcare of Mingo.

Born on February 26, 1937 at Wharncliffe, he was the son of the late Admiral Dewey and Tressie Evelyn (Morgan) Browning.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son: Shawn Browning; siblings: Sylvia Collins, Mrytle Gillman, Helen Joyce Baisden, Teddy Hoover Browning, Leola Marie Hatfield, Mary Lou Browning (Infant), Troy J. Browning, Betty Joe Browning (Infant), Charles Edward Browning and Virginia Dare Mullen.

Jim was an Army Veteran and a TV repairman.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years: Victoria Sue (Smoot) Browning of Hanover, WV; his children: Trina, Clinton, and Jamie Browning; sisters: Teresa “Sis” Evelyn Garrett of Mt. Hope, WV, and Jean Carol (Larry) Varney of Pie, WV.  He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Rev. Denny May officiating.  Burial will follow at the Hatfield Cemetery at Hampden, WV.

James will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our heart.
