Janet Lea (Dotson) Blankenship, 64 of Baisden, WV departed this life Saturday, September 7, 2024, from her residence. Born February 22, 1960, in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Rabon and Bonnie Lou (Collins) Dotson.
In addition to her parents Janet is preceded in death by her daughter: Brandi Blankenship; son: Ricky Jonathan Blankenship; brother: Donald Dotson.
Janet enjoyed attending the Verner Community Church when she was able to do so. She enjoyed reading, watching older tv programs, like Andy Griffin, Bonanza, and a few others.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her husband: Ricky E. Blankenship; daughter: Kiera A. Blankenship, all of Baisden, WV; special son: Charles Lester of Justice, WV; brothers: Charles (Donna) Dotson, of Zebulon, GA, Rabon (Emilee) Dotson, Jr. of Strawberry Plains, TN; sisters: Janice (Ricky) Toler of Gilbert, WV and Wanda (John) Viars of Dade City, FL; stepbrothers: Kevin, Mike and David Matthews; stepsister: Sheila (Jonathan) Daugherty, all of Suffolk, VA; cousin: Cindy Workman of Baisden, WV. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Thursday, September 12, 2024, in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home from 6:00 till 9:00 pm with funeral services commencing at 7:00 pm with Rev. Homer Blankenship, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Lester-Browning Cemetery at Spice Creek, Verner, WV at a later date.
Janet will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
