Janice Radford Obituary

Janice Lee Radford (Hatfield), 85, of Columbus, Ohio passed from this world Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at Ohio Living Rehabilitation Center. She now resides in her Heavenly Father's house.

Janice was born March 18, 1935, in Glen Alum, WV to Chess and Alma Ellen Hatfield (Harrison). Both her parents preceded her to heaven. Her husband Larry Lee Radford and brothers Carl Hatfield, Ralph Hatfield, and Joe Hatfield, along with sister-in-law Burma Hatfield (Highlander) were all waiting to greet her as was her nephew Jeffrey Kent Hatfield.

After graduating from Gilbert High School in 1951, Janice worked for the Appalachian Regional Hospital in Man, WV as well as the WV Bureau of Motor Vehicles. In the mid-1950s she went to work for Mountain Chevrolet where her older brother Ralph worked as the Parts Manager. There she met Larry who worked with Ralph in the Parts Department.

Jan and Larry were married on Oct. 18, 1957, and built their life together in Columbus, Ohio until Larry passed in early 2007. They had two children: Jane Ann Mitchell (late son-in-law Philip Mitchell) of Newtown, WV and Larry Todd Radford (and daughter-in-law Cindy) of Columbus, OH. She also leaves grandsons Nathaniel and Nicholas Mitchell, both of Newtown, to mourn her loss.

Janice dedicated her time to raising her family and looking after her parents. In her later years, she enjoyed reading, quilting, and other needlework.

Loved-ones include sisters-in-law Ivadenne (Ralph) Hatfield of Williamson, WV, Charlene Mounts (Radford) and Rose Pinc (Radford) of Romeoville, IL, and their families; niece LaDonna Hatfield and family; niece Valice Jo Hatfield and her husband Ken and their daughters' families; nephew Gregory Scott Hatfield of Charleston, WV, and his family.

Due to current public health concerns, the entombment will be held privately on April 2, 2020, at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. A public Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations could be made to a charity of your choice.
