Jaylynn Brianna-Faith Mounts

Jaylynn Brianna-Faith Mounts, 15 of Baisden, WV gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at CAMC Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Charleston, WV after a long courageous 8-month battle with leukemia.

Born September 30, 2009, at Logan, WV she was the beautiful daughter of Alex Brad and Lorie Mounts.

Brianna is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Herbert and Betty Mounts; uncle: Walter “Joey” Morgan; aunt: Aletta “Gay” Hatfield.

Brianna brought so much joy to all that knew her.  She enjoyed camping, four-wheel riding, and anything John Wick. The most important thing to Brianna was her family and spending time together, she enjoyed going to youth at the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church, and she loved spending time with her loving boyfriend, TJ.  

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her loving parents: Alex Brad and Lorie Mounts; sister: Kynlee Evans of Beckley, WV; maternal grandparents: Albert Joe and Jone Morgan of Simon, WV; very special boyfriend who she loved dearly TJ Murphy of Beech Creek, WV; uncles: Carlos and Georgetta Mounts, Billy and Chyan Justice all of Baisden, WV, Troy Hatfield of Ironton, Ohio; her bubby Mike and sissy Carrie Morgan of Simon, WV; cousins who felt more like siblings: Kailey and Cody Whitt of Baisden, WV, Kyle and Keshia Hatfield of Matewan, WV, Lydia and Matt Ford of Tuscaloosa, AL, Brayden, Bradley, and Emma Morgan all of Simon, WV, Cody, Zack, Seth, and Kathlyn Morgan all of Gilbert, WV, Jaelyn and Kaleb Justice of Baisden, WV; her special friends: Gay and Eddie Chapman.  She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 4:00 till 9:00 pm at the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church, Horsepen, WV.  Funeral services will commence there at the church on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Brian Warden, Rev. Jonas Trent, and Rev. Brandon Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mounts Cemetery at Baisden, WV.

Brianna will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: Kyle Hatfield, Cody Whitt. Matt Ford, TJ Murphy, Brayden and Bradley Morgan, Kaleb and Shane Justice.  Honorary pallbearers are Albert Joe “Papaw” Morgan, Carlos Mounts, Michael Morgan, Tim Coleman, Billy and Herbie Justice, Timothy Murphy.

Brianna was deeply loved and will be forever missed until we all meet again.  Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
