Jessie Earl Collins

Jessie Earl Collins, 64 of Simon, WV., departed this life Thursday, June 2, 2022 from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born on September 20, 1957 in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Collins and Edith (Lawrence) Thomas.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his stepfather: Ernie Thomas; his brothers: Stanley, Steve, and Nick Collins, Ronnie Jordan, and Jody Thomas; sister: Rosalee Walker.

Jessie enjoyed watching racing on TV, he was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.  Jessie was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his children: Jessica (Chip) Rowe of Suffolk, VA, Anthony (Kameron) Nelson of Statesville, NC, Hailea (Gary) Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren: Hannah and Morgan Rowe of Suffolk, VA., Jason, Braylen, Sawyer and Brinley Nelson of Statesville, NC., Olivia Rose Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers: Randall (Mary) Thomas and Rick Collins, all of Simon, WV; special niece: Miranda (Ricky) Morgan of Simon, WV; special friends: Steven Kissinger, Barb Gibson, Della Toler, and Doreen Morgan, all of Simon, WV.  Jessie also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at the Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church with service at 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will commence there at the church on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Robert Hunt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrence Cemetery at Simon, WV.

Jessie will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
