Jimmy Bragg, 71 of Gilbert, WV gained his heavenly wings on Friday, November 24, 2023 at his residence after a long illness.
Born November 26, 1951 he was the son of the late Lee Bragg and Virginia (Vincent) Bragg. He was a retired coal miner for Pittston Coal (Rum Creek Plant) and a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa Bragg; a sister, Patricia Bragg; Paternal Grandparents: Homer and Lula Bragg. Maternal Grandparents: Fonzo and Virgie Vincient. Mother-in-law: Betty Holcomb. Uncles: Ray Bragg, Kenneth Bragg, Buster Bragg, Junior Vincent, and Bob Vincent and Aunts: Margie (Vincent McNeely) and Mollie (Vincent) Trent.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, papaw, father-in-law, coach, camera man, and friend to all that knew him. One of his many loves was Gilbert sports. Among many things, he was head coach in the old
Gilbert Little League, coaching football, basketball, and baseball; Assistant coach, with his son Jimmy Lee, at Gilbert Middle School; and was the assistant to his longtime friend, Coach Arnold Mollette, for the baseball team at Gilbert High School. The family would like to give a heartfelt 'thank you' to Gilbert Pride Little League, Gilbert Middle School, Gilbert High School, and Mingo Central High School for allowing him to be a part of the teams and to film games for each of you over the years.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife: Donna Bragg of Gilbert, WV. Sons: Jimmy Lee Bragg (wife Amanda) of Hampden, WV, Ryan Bragg (wife Katherine) of Talbott, TN. Stepson: Ronald Collins (Allison Collins) of Bruno, WV. Grandchildren: Jordan Bragg and Preston Dingess of Hampden, WV, Magnolia, and Audrianna Bragg of Talbott, TN, and Dylan Collins of Logan, WV. Also, the many families, friends, co-workers, and the players whom he coached and loved dearly. The family would like to thank and show appreciation to his caretakers; Tina West Hatfield and Nadean Davis and to Hospice Home Care.
Friends and former players may gather with the family Friday, December 1, 2023 from 12:00 to 2:00pm in the Chapel at Mounts Funeral Home of Gilbert, WV where funeral services will commence at 2:00pm with Rev. Denny May and Rev. Lowell Smith officiating. The singers will be Brother Nick Browning and Sister Jackie Mounts. Burial will follow at the Bragg Family Cemetery at Hampden, WV.
Pallbearers will be Todd Dillon, Mark Lester, Shaye Justice, Jared Lester, Cody Houck, Nate Butcher, Cameron Ellis, and Josh Dingess.
Thou he is gone from our sight, his smile, never ending love, and presence will remain with us forever.
