Jimmy Joe Trent

Jimmy Joe Trent, 59 of Baisden, departed this life Saturday, June 18, 2022 from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born on December 4, 1962 at Iaeger, WV he was the son of Rev. Jonas and Erma (Cline) Trent.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his son: Jimmy Jarrod Trent; brother: Edward Joe Trent; paternal grandparents: Fleming and Florence Trent; maternal grandparents: Thomas and Carrie Cline; best friend: Erick Shawn “Big D” Cline; a host of aunts and uncles who were precious to him.

Jimmy was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He was a 1981 Gilbert High School graduate, a retired Coal Miner, a member of the UMWA.  He loved riding motorcycles, and traveling with his friends, he enjoyed cooking and grilling out, playing Cornhole, he loved just hanging out, spending time with his family and friends.  He believed in living life to the fullest. He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his loving wife of 34 years: Annette (Hatfield) Trent of Baisden, WV; daughter: Christina (Jordan) Salmons of Wharncliffe, WV; mother and father: Erma (Cline) and Rev. Jonas “Joe Peck” Trent of Baisden; grandchildren: Jaxton Trent of Logan and Aiden Trent of Chattaroy; sisters: Deleta (Scott) Bray of Pipestem, WV., Joanna (Scott) Carter of Benson, NC., Judy (Bill) Beard of Oxford, NC.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many acquaintances and friends that he had made throughout his journeys.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 12:00 till 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Bishop Anthony Hudgins, Rev. Dewey Lusk, and Rev. Kenneth Poole officiating.  Burial will follow in the Justice Memorial Gardens cemetery at Justice, WV.

Jimmy will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Stark Coleman, Todd Toler, Kevin Goad, Cavon Bailey, Kermit Browning, June Bug Bailey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Bray, Michael Harris, Chris Noe, Denny Bailey, Ricky Johnson, Devon Poe, Kenneth Blevins, Ranse Cline, and Bobby New.

In honor of Jimmy, there will be a final motorcycle ride to the cemetery following funeral services.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from the hearts of those who will always love and cherish his life and memories.
