Jonathan Cline Obituary

Jonathan Dawayne Cline, better known as John B, 48 of Wharncliffe WV departed his life peacefully Saturday, February 15th, 2025, at his home with his loving wife of 32 years Rita Cline.

Jonathan was born on July 14, 1976, at Welch WV to Rush and the late Jean Madaline (Lester) Cline of Wharncliffe WV.

In addition to his mother, he is also preceded in death by his nephew: Travis Blake Cline.

Jonathan fought a long and rough battle with multiple health issues. When most would've given up, he kept fighting, and if you knew Jonathan, you know this to be true.  Jonathan loved hunting and fishing, he loved laughing and being the loudest in the group. He was one of a kind, there was never a dull moment in his presence. He worked for many years as a Coal Truck driver for Coal Mac, Strip Miner for Mingo Logan, and a Logger. He also enjoyed serving his community & surrounding areas as a member of the Wharncliffe Volunteer Fire Dept.

Those left to cherish his memory are his Wife: Rita (Wolford) Cline of Wharncliffe; his father: Rush (Hope) Cline; his sisters: Norma Denise (Randall) Hatfield of Varney, Misty (Shawn) Lee of Hanover; his special nephew that he loved like a son of his own and helped raise: Jarrett (Ashlee) Cline; his nephew: Troy (Savannah) Lee of Hanover; his stepdaughters: Audrey (Edward) Lawson of Wharncliffe, Vickie (Michael) Sammons of Hampton; his grandchildren: Cory and Zach Sammons of NC; his nieces: Adaleigh, Reagan, Peyton, Hazel and Kaybrie; he was known as Paw to Danny, Colton and Jenna Butcher whom he loved to spend time with; he was also known as BB to Bryson and Kayson Ellis who were also a big part of his life: his true best friend: Jerry (Humpy) Ellis; special friends: Alex and Kandice Jackson, and Lee Ellis. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends that will also mourn his loss.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 12:00 till 1:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ralphy Manuel and Rev. Marvin Joe Bradford officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cline Cemetery at Spring Fork, WV.

Jonathan will be carried to his resting place by: Jerry Ellis, Alex Jackson, Jarrett Cline, Troy Lee, Lee Ellis, Bink Johnson, Adam Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Buck Cline, Eddy Cline, Bartley Hatfield, Adam Church, and Gregory Daniels.
