HIGH POINT - Josephine Marie Cline Blankenship, 86, died Thursday, October 3, 2024, at her residence.
She was born August 19, 1938, in Mingo County, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Albert “Al” and Mary Browning Cline. She was a faithful and devoted wife, mother and homemaker and babysat many grandchildren and others, providing care and nurture as they grew. Josephine was a member of the Church of God Church in both Mingo County and locally after relocating to North Carolina. She also enjoyed reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Omer Justice and Ronnie Blankenship; son-in-law, Russell Hatfield; and two brothers, David Cline and Ranis Cline.
Josephine is survived by four daughters, Sonna Johnson (Roy) of High Point, Conda Morgan (Vincent) of Trinity, Donna Payne (Jimmy) of Bristol, Virginia, and Rhonda Hatfield of Nettie, West Virginia; three step-daughters; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister, Zelda Justice of Justice, West Virginia; two brothers, Tommy Cline (Truby) of Verner, West Virginia, and Junior Cline (Brenda) of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
A funeral service celebrating Josephine’s life will be held 12:00 PM Monday, October 7, 2024, in the Chapel of Mounts Funeral Home in Gilbert, West Virginia. Burial will following the Nathan Justice Cemetery in Justice, West Virginia.
