Judy Marie Jude, 80 of Greenville, TN formerly of Gilbert, WV departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
She was born February 14, 1943 at Neds Branch, a section of Gilbert, WV to the late John Jude Sr. and Minta (Simpson) Jude.
In addition to her parents, Judy is also preceded in death by her brothers: Rex Jude, John Jude Jr., Jack Jude Sr., Roy Jude Sr., Sonny Jude Sr., Dexter Jude Sr; sister: Beulah Jude; niece: Diane Jude; great niece: Jamie Birchfield; nephew: John D. Jude.
Judy was a homemaker. She loved to cook for her family and was well known for her delicious fried chicken, potato salad and biscuits and gravy. She enjoyed flower gardening and loved going to church to praise the Lord. She particularly enjoyed singing in the choir with her special friend Helen Hendricks at the Riverview Freewill Baptist Church where she attended for many years. She also loved her sweet furry companion of 17 years “Annie Girl”, and she loved traveling to Ohio where she lived with her niece Anna (Lum) Matney.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her brothers: Denny Jude of Gilbert, WV, Jesse Jude Sr of Logan, WV; sisters: Martha (Bo) Adkins of Greenville, TN and Naomi Harrison of Blountville, TN. Judy has a host of nieces and nephews that she was a second mother to: Amy, Debbie, Kate, Lynn, Johnica, Anthony, J.R., Roy, Walt, Patsy, Faith, Hannah, Josie, Dylan, Alice, Stella, Sonny Jr., Anna, J.D., Harvey, Justin, Alysa, and many more whose life she touched and molded.
Judy was a servant of the Lord for over 70 years. She was a perfect example of a virtuous woman and a devoted Christian. She was the one her family depended on as a prayer warrior. We knew she was a beautiful angelic soul that could touch the throne of God with her prayers, she would often say “I put my little hand in his big one, and I have peace”. She is asleep now in the arms of Jesus.
The family will gather to celebrate her wonderful life on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, with special services beginning at 7:00 pm with Rev. Conley Goad and Rev. J.R. Adkins officiating. The funeral services will be conducted there in the chapel on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Michael Browning and Rev. J.R. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV.
This will conclude the beautiful life well spent by our sister. Our hope and faith is in God the father, Jesus Christ, his son, knowing that this is not the end, but a Glorious Beginning in Eternity.
Sissy Judy will be carried to her resting place by her nephews. Her committal will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV, conducted by J.R. Adkins.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
