Kathern Juanita (Bowens) Salyers

Kathern Juanita (Bowens) Salyers, 40, of Coal Mountain passed away Saturday Dec. 17, 2022 from her home at Coal Mountain, WV where she lived with her fiancé Billy Lee Toler. 

She is the daughter of Robert (Tammy) Bowens and the late Ramona (Ball) Lester.  In addition to her mother, she is proceeded in death by her brother Robert Lee Bowens Jr.

Kathern was a beautiful soul, her smile could light up a room.  She was a homemaker who wanted to better herself and completed online classes to receive a master’s degree in the medical field.  She accomplished many great things and her family was very proud of her accomplishments, and made all who knew her proud. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her father: Robert (Tammy) Bowens of Davin, WV; one daughter: Abbigail Salyers Bowens also of Davin; her sister: Tiffany (Taz) Sinett of Buffalo Creek, WV; one brother: Adam (Kristy) Lester Jr. of Mallory, WV; step-dad: Adam Lester also of Mallory; nieces and nephews: Brooklynn Sinett, Johnnie Sinett, Hailey Sinett, Savanna Sinett, Anna Lester, and Madison Nelson; very special cousins, aunts, uncles, and host of other family and friends. 

Kathern’s remains will be cremated, and a memorial service scheduled for a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Mounts Funeral Home of Gilbert, WV.
