Keith Dewayne Gibson, 60 of Whitman, WV began his journey on the streets of gold on July 3, 2021, leaving from Cabell Huntington Hospital.
He was born on December 1, 1960 at Man, WV to the late Denny C. and Wilma Jean (Chandler) Gibson of Gilman Bottom. He was met in heaven by his mother Wilma, and father Denny, his sister Sherry E. “Gibson” Sumdum, his brother Randell Heath Gibson and his niece Amy M. Gilco, brother-in-law, Carl David Porter.
Keith was a member of the Whitman # 20 Community Church with Pastor Joaquine Ooten, who he admired and looked up to dearly, and whom he loved. He loved and cherished the members of his church and will be missed deeply by all of them. Keith was a very dedicated man. He was a retired underground Coal Miner, and he loved every minute of it. He loved animals (he complained about his cat but wouldn’t let you touch them) even down to feeding the birds. He was a faithful man, to God, his family, his friends, and his church. If you needed him, he was there. He was an avid West Virginia Mountaineers fan.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his son: Derrick (Thia) Gibson; his 2 sisters: Brenda (Danny) Harper and Melba Porter; brother: Donnie Gibson, all of Gilman Bottom; 3 special precious grandchildren: Savannah, Leigh, and Little Denny; 3 special little kids: Haven, Ian, and Zoe; aunt: Barbara Thomason; cousin: Lori Brill; a very special friend: Billy Western. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other dear relatives. If you ever met Keith, you made a new friend,
Friends may gather with the family Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at the Whitman # 20 Community Church at Whitman, WV where funeral services will commence on Friday, July 9, 2021, at 11:00 am with his Pastor, Joaquine Ooten and Rev. Butch Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, WV.
Keith will be carried to his final resting place by his family and friends.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
