Kristy Dawn Brown

Kristy Dawn Brown, 52 of Browning Fork section of Gilbert, WV departed this life Friday, October 6, 2023 at Akron General Hospital, subsidiary of Cleveland Clinic from a traumatic injury.

Born in South Williamson, KY on December 15, 1970, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Elma (Hatfield) Brown.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Kelly and Ettie Hatfield; paternal grandparents: Thurman and Lela Brown; sister: Lorna Sue Baker; brothers: Steve and Rex Brown; sister-in-law: Rosemary Brown; nephew: Jeremy Keith Brown.

Kristy loved her animals, traveling, and making crafts for her family and friends.  One could find her sitting on her porch in the summer, waving and talking to those who passed by.  She never met a stranger.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her significant other of 28 years: James Ball; sister: Lola (Oscar) Keen; brothers: Rod (Sandy) Brown, Lonnie (Sonja) Brown, Chester, Jr. (Melanie) Brown, Aaron Brown, Darrin Brown; special aunt: Barbara Mounts; uncle: Herb (Sue) Hatfield.  Kristy also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends of whom are numerous and too many to name.

Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 6-9 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV.  Funeral services will commence there at the chapel on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Lowell Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery in the Browning Fork section of Gilbert, WV.

Kristy will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.

Love is stronger than death even though it cannot stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it cannot separate people from love.  It cannot take away our memories either.  In the end, life is stronger than death.  Kristy is gone from sight and taken from this life to her eternal life.  She is gone from sight, but never from our hearts.
