Larry E. Baisden, 71 of Gilman Bottom departed this life Thursday, February 6, 2025, from his son’s residence. Born February 3, 1954, at Welch, WV he was the son of the late Vernon Baisden and Ollie Ball.
In addition to his parents and his stepmother: Irene (Grose) Baisden; he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years: Sharon L. Baisden; and his daughter: Crystal Baisden; two brothers-in-law: Ronald Short and Don Short; and one sister-in-law: Billie Short.
Larry was a retired State Road employee, where he worked for many years in the Department of Highways. It was nothing to see Larry working on the road, waving, laughing, and cutting up with everyone, or to see him with his work pants rolled up past his knees. Larry had a great personality, he was definitely one of a kind. In his spare time Larry loved to fish and spend time with his family and friends.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving son: Larry Dwayne (Amanda) Baisden, five grandchildren: Jake Adkins, Kearstin Adkins, Bret (Lexi) Baisden, Destinee Baisden, and Dusten Baisden; two brothers: Vernon (Randa) Baisden, and Greg Baisden; one sister: Debbie (Eddie) Rose; three brothers-in-law: Jerry Short, Larry Short, and Bradley Short; two sisters-in-law: Diane Short and Vicky Short. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and many friends.
Honoring Larry’s request, there will be no services, and his remains have been cremated.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
