Lawrence "Dick" Ellis

Lawrence “Dick” Ellis, 74 of Wharncliffe departed this life Monday, March 20, 2023 from his residence.

Born July 20, 1948 at Wharncliffe, he was the son of the late Henry and Lona (Ward) Ellis.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister: Louise Brown; brothers: Clifford Ike Ellis and Jerry “Red” Ellis.

Lawrence enjoyed spending time outdoors, when he was able, he liked hunting, fishing, and riding 4-wheelers.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his son: Barry Ellis; his daughter: Gwen Ellis; his granddaughter: Makayla Cline; grandson: Dustin (Allie) Cline; great grandson: Parker Cline; great granddaughter: Madilyn Cline; companion: Tammy New; sisters: Judy Akers and Bertha Hatfield; brother: Raymond “Crow” (Barbara) Ellis.  He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 12:00 till 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow in the Beech Fork Cemetery at Wharncliffe.

Lawrence will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our heart.
