Lemuel “Doc” Grimmett, 85 of Gilbert, WV departed this life Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from his residence.
Born June 21, 1940, at Hampden, WV, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Hatfield) Grimmett.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Shelby J. Grimmett; his brothers: Edward, Landon, Harold, and Harry Grimmett; grandson: Weston Rollyson.
“Doc” was a retired coal miner and electrician of 45 years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his daughters: Barbara (Gerald) Cline of Gilbert, WV and Kathy Campbell of Statesboro, Georgia; his son: Landon (Misty) Grimmett of Gilbert, WV; his grandchildren: Jeremy and Justin Cline, Leah McCoy, Dalaney and Kinley Grimmett; great grandchildren: Lexzee, Gracie, and Preslee Cline; great-great grandchildren: Wade and Wesley Cline, Coalton Osborne and Waylon Loyd; special friends: Larry Watson, Lowell Green, and “Pee Wee” Gibson. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 12:00 till 2:00 pm at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden, WV where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Pastor Carl “Cab” Wolford officiating. Burial will follow at the Hatfield Cemetery at Hampden, WV.
“Doc” will be carried to his resting place by his grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Watson, Lowell Green, and “Pee Wee” Gibson.
He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
