Linnie Lawrence, 83 of the Long Branch section of Simon, departed this life Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from CAMC General Hospital, Charleston, WV.
Born on October 20, 1937 at Simon, she was the daughter of the late Brian and Lena (Morgan) Kenneda.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years: Norman Lawrence; son: Dewayne Lawrence; daughter: Carrie Sue Lawrence; grandson: Jeffrey Lawrence; great-grandchild: Zacari Miller; sisters: Maxine Harper, Parlie Harper, Atlis Morgan, Wanda Lee Cook, Alberta Moore, Doris Wingler Cline, and Sue Ann Lester; brother: Jennings Kenneda.
Linnie was a member of the Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church, where she loved attending when she was able to do so. She loved the Lord and her children and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching and listening to Jimmy Swaggart Ministry Programs. She also wanted her hair done and to wear pretty clothes, always to look nice.
Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her daughter: Melissa (Jerry) Conn; her son: Robert Glen (Pearl) Lawrence, all of Simon; her grandsons: J.D. Lawrence of Simon, Joey (Caralee) Lawrence of North Spring, Isaiah (Teyona) Blankenship of Brenton; granddaughters: Nikki Conn and Haley Lawrence, both of Simon, and Heather Miller of North Carolina; great-grandson: Kobie Lawrence of Simon; special friend: Hazel Conn of Simon; special caregiver and friend: Tammy Cook. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Sunday, August 8, 2021 after 6:00 pm at the Long Branch Freewill Baptist church, with special service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will commence there at the church on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Lonnie Blankenship and Rev. Landon Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrence Family Cemetery at Simon.
Linnie will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
