Lonnie Gene Hatfield

Lonnie Gene Hatfield, 53 of Baisden, departed this life Sunday, September 15, 2019 from Pikeville Medical Center.

Born on October 19, 1965 at Logan, he was the son of the late Jess (June) and Zettie (Cantrell) Hatfield.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother: Jessie (Junior) Hatfield.

Lonnie was a member of the Wharncliffe Church of God.  He enjoyed going to church, spending time with his family and friends and hanging out at Bonnie’s Place.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his 4 sisters: Emogene Shirkey of Beckley, Pauline Hatfield of Browning Fork, Connie (John) May of Baisden and Michelle (Ronald) Bailey of Browning Fork; his 4 brothers: Roger Hatfield of Horsepen, Dale (Diane) Hatfield of Varney, Ronald (Sherry) Hatfield of Gallipolis Ferry, OH, Randy (Sherry) Hatfield of Shady Woods; 7 nieces: Jennifer Ball and Emily Shirkey of Beckley, Ashley (Jonathan) Gibson of Horsepen, Amy (Josh) Hatfield of Ben Creek, Kayla Hatfield of Shady Woods, Brittany Hatfield of Bruno, Jessica (Andy) Hatfield of Gilbert; 9 nephews: Josh (Holly) Bailey of Browning Fork, Brandon (Brittany) Hatfield and Ryan Hatfield of Gallipolis Ferry, OH, Joseph (Brittany) Hatfield of Huntington, Jason (Angela) Hatfield of Varney, Michael Hatfield of Georgetown, KY, Taz (Tiffany) Sinett of Greenville, Robert (Andrea) May of Milton and Nick May of Baisden; 11 great nieces; 12 great nephews and 3 more on the way; special friends: Kluh, Lee, Bryson and Kayson Ellis, Dewey (Babe) Coleman, Joe (Hazel) Conn, Ermon and Deborah Cline and all his friends at Bonnie’s Place.  He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

The family thanks everyone who has been there for Lonnie and helped him with anything he has needed, past and present.

Friends may gather with his family Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 12 to 2 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 2:00 with the Rev. Rick Endicott, Rev. Garfield Hatfield and Rev. Winfred Bradford officiating.  Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery at Browning Fork.

Lonnie will be carried to his final resting place by his family and friends.  Honorary pallbearers are his nephews.

In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Mounts Funeral Home, Inc.  P.O. Box 1567 Gilbert, WV 25621 to help with funeral expenses.

Lonnie’s wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
