Lou Ann (Meade) Morris

Lou Ann Morris, 60 of Pearisburg, VA, formerly of Gilbert, departed this life Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at her residence.

Born December 28, 1959 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Glema (Mullins) Meade.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother: Kenneth Meade.

Lou Ann was a retired schoolteacher, working in the education field for over 20 years.  She loved traveling out West, especially to Estes Park, CO, and to her second home, Yellowstone National Park.  Lou Ann was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her daughters: Amelia (Michael) Elander of Richmond, VA, Kerrie (Terrance) Hurley of Pearisburg, VA, Angie (Troy) Lockhart of North Spring; grandchildren: Ashton Elander, Bryson Cook, Gavin Hurley, Haylea, Logan, and Paige Lockhart; brother: Steven Morrison of Milton; sister-in-law: Elizabeth Meade of Gilbert; her fur babies: Jake, Bella, Lady, Molly, Meme and Sadie.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Due to Lou Ann's love for Gilbert Pre-K-8, please help to share her love by bringing school supply donations for area children.

Special thanks to those who have gone above and beyond to help her daughter's:  Amelia, Angie and Kerrie through this difficult time.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Rev. Bill Cresong officiating.

To honor her wishes, Lou Ann will be cremated.

Following the services, there will be a fellowship gathering at the Gilbert Church of God.

Her gentle smile and warm heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
