Mabelene (Huff) Marsingill

Mabelene (Huff) Marsingill, 88, of Slabtown, WV, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, surrounded by her children and family, who loved her with all their hearts.

Born March 7, 1937, at Stirrat, in Logan County, WV to the late Ezra Huff and Sadie (Blankenship) Huff. Mabelene was the last of her siblings to be born and the last of that generation to die.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Leroy Marsingill, her daughter Syvilla Kathleen Wilson, her grandchildren, Cherie Hope Hendricks, Lisa Annette Clay, Brandi Michelle Muncy, Frankie (Sam) Kovach, and one great-grandchild, Steven Lee Kovach Jr., as well as her siblings Joe Huff, Kathleen Fields, Clell Huff, Lorene Huff, Jason Huff, and Ella Mae Walls.

She is survived by her children Timothy Marsingill and his companion Sherri Browning of Slabtown, WV, Cecilia (James) Muncy of Gilbert, WV, Sally Marsingill and her fur baby Clyde of Palm Bay, Florida, Amy (Mark) Lefevre of Charleston, WV, Martha (Zach) Hendricks of Slabtown, WV, and Leroy II (Teresa) Marsingill of Justice, WV.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 little great-great grandchild, Macie Sue Adkins. Mabelene loved her family, traveling to see them no matter where they lived, whether it be California, Alabama, Illinois, Charleston, Florida, Gilbert, Justice, or just next door. She enjoyed time spent with her special friend, Helen Hendricks and going on trips with her kids to the beach, movies, shopping, going out to dinner, or staying home watching westerns together. She simply loved being with her kids, and her kids loved being with her, even to the very end.

But most of all, Mabelene loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and he loved her. She began her journey with him nearly sixty years ago and never regretted a mile, not once.

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 2:00 till 4:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, Gilbert, WV where funeral services will commence at 4:00 pm with Rev. Rodney Robinette officiating.

In honoring her request, she will be cremated following services.

Her traveling days are over now; her journey is complete. She’s home.
