Mark Cline, 71 years old, of Baisden, WV, departed this life for his Heavenly home on Monday, January 29, 2024 following a sudden illness. He was born on August 12, 1952. Mark was of the Baptist faith. He was the son of the late Silas and Lavennie Cline.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Oliver and Hopie Cline as well as Burgoyne and Mary Cline. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Teddy Cline, Larry Cline, Carey Cline, Eddie Cline; his sister: Aracoma Justice; his father-in-law: Lonnie Mounts; Oza and Lena Cline; his mother-in-law: Maerene Mounts; his brothers-in-law: Danny Mounts, Ronnie Mounts, Mitchell Mounts, Chester Glen Mounts, Benny Gravley, Sid Justice, and Lonnie David Mounts.
Mark was a 1970 graduate of Gilbert High School where he participated in basketball, baseball, and boxing. Immediately after graduation, he went to work in the coal mines with his father and brothers. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Mark was a member of Iaeger Lodge 148 and was a past Master. He was an avid outdoorsman with an amazing spirit for life. Mark never met a stranger and if you met him, you were his friend. Mark greatly enjoyed being on the strip rabbit hunting with his buddies, riding his Harley and deep-sea fishing with his friends and family.
Mark is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 52 years: Linda Gail (Mounts) Cline of Baisden, WV; his two sons who he loved beyond measure: Mark Cline (Tabatha) of Baisden, WV, Matthew (Johnna) Cline of Hamer, SC; his grandchildren: Jeanna Cline (Ben) of Taylors, SC, Jacob Cline (Chapel) of Hamer, SC, Macie Cline (Mason) of Man, WV, Hannah (Cody) Hogston of Hanover, WV, Hunter Lester of Iaeger, WV; his great-grandchildren: Kashton Lester, Coalson Hogston and Kaizlee Hogston; His sisters-in-law: Jennifer Mounts, Verna Faye Cline, Linda Cline, Eileen Cline, Pam Cline; brother-in-law: Lonnie "Skip" Mounts; several nieces, nephews and a host of other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 6:00 till 8:00 pm with Rev. James Cline, Rev. Cab Wolford and Rev. Barry Cline officiating at Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer located at 629, Horsepen Rd, Gilbert, WV. There will be special singers: Jacob Cline and Trinity.
To honor his request, Mark was cremated.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
