Mark Anthony Mounts

Mark Anthony Mounts, 53 of Beckley, WV, formerly of Gilbert, WV departed this life Saturday, March 18, 2023 from his residence.

Born on March 3, 1970 at Logan, WV he was the son of Jackie (Daniels) and Enoch Michael Mounts, Sr.

Mark was preceded in death by his brother: Enoch “Michael” Mounts, II; maternal grandparents: Jack Daniels and Maggie (Paul) Rhodes; paternal grandparents: Arden Mounts and Audrey Joseph.

Mark was a 1988 graduate of Gilbert High School, where he excelled in all sports, especially football.  He received a scholarship to WV Tech; he was All-State Football his junior and senior year.  Mark was avid Dallas Cowboy Fan.  He loved dirt track racing with his dad and nephew.  Mark’s greatest passion was singing.  He loved to sing all genres of music.  He was a coal truck driver.  He was of the Apostolic Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his wife: Peggy Elizabeth (Lester) Mounts of Beckley, WV; his parents: Enoch Michael Mounts, Sr,. and Jackie (Daniels) Mounts of Gilbert, WV; his children: Markie Brooke Mounts of Beckley, Jewel Hope Mounts of Gilbert, WV; brother: Kenny (April) Epling of Mechanicsville, VA; grandchildren: Jaylynn Brooke and Lynnix Zayne Bare, both of Beckley, WV.  He also leaves behind a host of friends, and dear relatives that will cherish his memories.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Rev. R. A. King and Rev. Lowell Sparks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mounts-Lester Cemetery at Baisden, WV.

His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
