Marvin Dotson, 76 of Bull Creek section of Mohawk, WV departed this life Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from Princeton Community Hospital.
Born January 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Troy and Claudia (Hunt) Dotson.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife: Linda (Bailey) Dotson; sisters: Patsy Lester and Dora Hatfield; brothers: Herdie Dotson and Glen Dotson; son-in-law: Miles Roberts, Jr; brothers-in-law: William Bailey, John Zimmer, and Kermit Bailey; sisters-in-law: Sandra Bailey, Tammy Bailey, and Cricket Dotson.
Marvin was a member of the Mohawk Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his daughters: Debra Roberts and Kimberly (Keith) Salyers, all of Bullcreek, and Shona McBride of Pinnacle, N.C; granddaughter: Ranee (Nathan) Lester of Bullcreek; grandsons: Justin (Brittany) Salyers and Jared Salyers (Fiancé’ Kelly Bailey) of Bluefield, Michel (Sonya) Lester of Conway, S.C., Kaden McBride of Pinnacle, N.C; great grandchildren: Kinleigh Salyers, Lyndalynn Hodges, Liliana Lester, Aiden Salyers, Cheyenne Lester, Layla Lester; brothers: Luther (Hazel) Dotson of Bullcreek, Russell Dotson of Pikeville, KY; brother-in-law: George Bailey of Bullcreek; sisters-in-law: Wanda (Ronald) Conner of Ikes Fork, Cathy Zimmer of White Plaines, N.C., Nellie bailey of Bullcreek and Denita (Shannon) Bailey of Bullcreek. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, July 16, 2021, from 6 till 9:00 pm at the Panther Missionary Baptist Church at Panther, WV. Funeral services will commence there at the church on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Willie Coleman, Rev. Ervin Dotson and Rev. Hassel Riffe officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery at Bullcreek, Mohawk, WV.
Marvin will be carried to his final resting place by his family and friends.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
