Mary Lucille (Trent) Hatfield, 97 of Hampden, WV departed this life Sunday, February 23, 2025, from her residence. Born February 11, 1928, at Justice, WV she was the daughter of the late Donald and Vannie (Brown) Trent.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years: Chilton Hatfield; son: Larry Hatfield; sister: Shirley Chambers; brothers: Guy (Oxley) Trent, Harold “Windy” (Nellie) Trent, Hubert Trent; sister-in-law: Eileen Ellis.
Mary was a homemaker and a Store Owner/Operator who worked alongside with her husband Chilton for many years, as they ran the business “Chilton’s”. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed shopping, traveling, and watching “Days of Our Lives” but her greatest love was spending time with her family and her best companion “Harley”. Mary was of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her daughter: Lana (Clyde) Blankenship of Baisden, WV; her son: Don Allen (Drema) Hatfield of Hanover, WV; granddaughters: Regina (Rustin) Christian of Cub Creek, WV, Michelle (Chad) Lester of Baisden, WV, Toni (Shannon) McCoy of Hanover, WV; grandsons: McKinley Adams (Howard Chan) of Chicago, Il, Shawn Donovan (Lori Hatfield) of Brenton, WV, Mason Hatfield of Hampden, WV; 16 great grandchildren; special niece: Debbie Gromosaik of Fort Lauderdale, FL; brothers: Earl (Doris) Trent of Justice, WV, Harry (Rhonda) Trent of Hanover, WV; sisters-in-law: Clarice Trent of Hampden, WV and Deloris Trent of Wayne, WV; special caregiver: Lora Nagy. Mary leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 12:00 till 1:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Rev. Gary Browning and Rev. Diamond Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Trent Cemetery at Justice, WV.
Mary will be taken to her resting place by pallbearers: Chad Lester, Shannon McCoy, Howard Chan, Zach Trent, Braxton, Donovan, and Mason Hatfield. Honorary pallbearer: Kevin Hatfield.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
