Mary Cline Obituary

Mary M. (Lester) Cline, 95 of Baisden, WV departed this life Saturday, May 18, 2024, from her residence, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on December 6, 1928, at Baisden, WV, she was the daughter of the late Burgess and Eliza (Lambert) Lester.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her special twin sister: Martha J. Cline; son Tommy Cline; her brothers: Bill Cline “Big Bill”, Cecil, Arnold, Curtis, Floyd, Ermel, Burgoyne, and Donald Lester; sisters: Eunice, and Bessie Cline.

Mary was married for 62 years to Willie “Little Bill” Cline, until he passed away in 2004.  She was a devoted daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She was “maw maw” to generations of children, whether she was really related or not.  She worked hard all her life raising a family, working in her garden, canning, and freezing food.  She cooked for anyone who needed to be fed.  She lived with her two granddaughters and great grandson, who took loving care of her: especially Sabrina Buchanan

She was so benevolent, no one was ever turned away.  If you needed a place to stay, she welcomed you with open arms.  She was a devout Christian woman, who practiced what Jesus taught. In her later years her favorite thing to do was going to church.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her daughters: Tammy (Carson) Cline of Baisden, WV, Zandra (Rocky) Lawrence of Barboursville, WV, Dimple Rihel of Avon, IN; granddaughters: Sabrina and Samantha Buchanan, both of Baisden, WV., Missy (Jared) Adkins of Barboursville, WV, Kimberly (Fred) Kennedy of St. Charles, IL, Traci (Jimmy) Eminger of Crown Point, IN; grandsons: Tommy (Kim) Rihel of Milford, CT, Matthew Lawrence of Greensboro, NC, Weston (Kayla) Cline of Baisden, WV; great grandsons: Jacob Will, Briggs, and Kace Cline, Zachary and Joshua Kennedy, Garrett Miles, Lucas Rihel; great granddaughters: Mackenzie Miles, Hailey Rihel, Shelby Jo Cline; sister: Gladys Rutledge; brother-in-law: Rev. Clayton N. (Denise) Cline.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, her church family at Four Winds Tabernacle, and other dear relatives, and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Four Winds Tabernacle Church at Justice, WV from 11:30 AM till 1:00 pm.  Funeral services will commence there at the church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth Poole and Rev. Dewey Lusk officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rex Cline Cemetery at Baisden, WV.

Mary will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: Jacob Will Cline, Matthew Lawrence, Joshua and Zachary Kennedy, Zachary Kirk, Weston Cline, and Tommy Rihel.  Honorary pallbearers are: Carson Cline, Rocky Lawrence, Rev. Clayton Cline, Jimmy Hatfield, Timmy “Bruzz” Gravely, Timmy Buchanan, and Jesse Marcum.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her church, Four Winds Tabernacle, P.O. Box 402 Gilbert, WV 25621.
