Maxine (Browning) Straley

Maxine Straley, 91 of Rockcave, WV., formerly of Justice, departed this life Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from Holbrook Healthcare Center.

Born on September 12, 1928 at Guyan, she was the loving daughter of the late Becket and Corbie (Hatfield) Browning.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded by her husband: Harry Clayton Straley; son: Tracey Lee Browning; sisters: Brida Toler, Hazel Fortner, Lema May Browning, Ivy Staton, Mable Rose and Flossie Hicks; brothers: Bill, Harry, French, Hurist, Junior and Clifton Browning; step-daughter: Linda.

Maxine loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her brother: Chester (Diana) Browning of Rockcave, WV.; sister: Fredonia Adams of Amelia, Ohio; step-son: Myron Straley of Bakersfield, CA; step-daughters: Anita Culburston of San Francisco, CA and Rita Young of Charleston, SC.  She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Monday, February 10, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Rev. David Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.

Maxine will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
