Melvin “Butch” Endicott, 77 of Hanover, WV departed this life Saturday, January 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born January 23, 1947, in Justice, WV he was the son of the late Clinton “Chick” and Edith Irene (Fletcher) Endicott.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years - Kathryn (Mock) Endicott, brother Conrad Endicott; and sister Teresa Justice.
Butch was a coal miner and had worked at Various area mining companies over the years, including Arch Coal, Mingo Logan Coal Company, Bluestone Mining, Cantenary Coal and Shaye Beth Mining among others. He was a Veteran and was proud of the time he spent in the Air Force- often telling many stories of his time there - the most valuable was meeting the love of his life Kathy. He was probably most known for his love of classic cars, and his cherished 55 Chevrolet Nomad. He was a longtime member of the Road Angels Car club. His favorite hobby being working on his various classic cars and trucks and attending car shows with his friends.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving daughters: Tammi (Endicott) Blankenship of Justice, WV, and Scarlett (Jake) Tolley of Peachland, NC; grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Alyssa (Hunter) Collins and Hunter Blankenship all of Justice, WV and Georgia Tolley of Peachland, NC; Melvin leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, January 10, 2025, from 6:00 till 9:00 pm in the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV. Funeral services will commence there in the chapel on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 12:00 pm with Rev. Jackie Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Family Cemetery at Justice, WV.
Butch will be carried to his final resting place by pallbearers: Jody Shannon, Trampas Shannon, Shaye Justice, Caleb Cline, Hunter Collins, Hunter and Gary Wayne Blankenship. Honorary pallbearers are Enoch Michael Mounts, Jerry Wright, Danny George Browning, Mike Mitchell, Macky Cline, Johnathan Walker, and Jason Tolley.
Butch will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
