Michael Amos Harper

Michael Amos Harper, 58, of Verner, WV passed away on Saturday September 11, 2021, at Logan General Hospital.

He was born February 18, 1963, and he was the son of the late Amos & Lois Harper.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother, William Harper and his maternal grandparents: Edward and Mattie Walls of Bruno, WV; and paternal grandparents: McKinley Harper and Nancy Lester of Leatherwood, WV.

Michael attended Gilbert High School and after that he worked for the WV State Road Department. Later, he found his passion and hauled coal for various coal companies. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with his grandchildren. He loved riding motorcycles, 4-wheelers and he enjoyed watching Science Fiction series.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his four children: Ashley (Ray) Hinkle of Delbarton, WV, Jessica Harper (James Phillips, fiancée) of Tamcliff, WV., Todd (Amanda) Harper of Advance, NC, and Joseph Harper of Verner, WV; Michael’s grandchildren are: Brenton Hatfield, Dustin Paige, Riley Harper, Levi Sheppard, Abrianna Hendricks, Alexander Phillips, Siera Hinkle, Kalie Hinkle, and David Hinkle; Michael also leaves behind Julia (Gary) Trent of Huntington WV., Mark Harper of Verner WV, Verlin (Michelle) Harper of Stoney Point, NC., Jonathan Harper of Stoney Point, NC and Christina Giordano of Mooresville, NC. He also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends that will mourn his passing.

Friends and family may gather with the family on Saturday, September 18, 2021, for visitation from 12:00-1:00pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will commence at 1:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor, Gary Browning officiating. Burial will follow at the Skyline Cemetery at Justice WV.

Michael will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.

He may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
