Minnie Mae (Richardson) Smith, 66 of Browning Fork, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early morning hours of September 16, 2022 after a long illness.
Minnie Mae was born February 13, 1956 in Mingo County. She was preceded in death by 2 special sets of parents, Troy & Minnie (Blankenship) Richardson and Millard & Naomi (Martin) Roach and 2 sisters Peggy Roach Morgan and Trisha Lynn Roach Sizemore.
Some of Minnie Mae’s favorite things were spending time with her family, reading, shopping and of course attending Church. She was a retired Elementary School Teacher for 27 years in Logan County. She was a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith Church.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years: Timmy Smith of the home; her son: Timmy Joe Smith (Mistie) of Horsepen, WV; her daughters: Stephanie Smith Highlander (Robert Cook) of Beckley, WV and Heather Smith Baisden (Howard) of Varney, WV; her brother: Lewis Roach (Naomi) of Logan, WV; her sisters: Mary Roach of Delbarton and Joetta Bentley of Pikeville, Ky. 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; 2 cousins that Minnie Mae thought of as her sisters, Wilma Davis Harrison of Horsepen, WV and Lorraine Davis Carter of Brenton, WV. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, with special services starting at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will commence there at the chapel on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lowell Smith, Rev. Jonas Trent, and Rev. Garfield Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery at Browning Fork section of Gilbert, WV.
Minnie Mae will be carried to her resting place by several grandsons and nephews: Wesley Smith, Corey Cline, Chris Cline, Ryan Baisden, Lewis Roach Jr., Adam Roach. Honorary Pall Bearers are Lewis Roach & Blaine Highlander.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
