Myra Sue (Brumfield) Browning, 77, of Gilbert, WV., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 30th, 2021 at Logan Regional Medical Center. Born May 15th, 1943 in Tamcliff, WV., she was the daughter of the late Okey and Virgie (Spears) Brumfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Darrell, Lloyd, Okey Jr, Gary, Jean, and Glenna and unnamed great-grandchild.
Those left to love and cherish Sue’s memory and to mourn her loss are her lifelong partner of 58 years and husband, Billy Browning Sr.; her children, Billy (Teresa) Browning Jr., Becky (Danny Morgan) Browning, Cheryl (Terry) Rogers, and Michelle (Robert) Thomas; grandchildren, Chris Browning, Ryan Orr, Megan Davis, Katie Ramsey, Hannah Browning, Josh Thomas, Nicole Rogers, and Colin Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Keevin, Karson, and Kason Hash, Eliza Browning, Lilianna Davis, and Isabella Thomas; and siblings Jane, Denzil, and Jason.
Sue was an incredible woman, and was the true meaning of a wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived her life with unyielding and fierce devotion to her Lord, witnessing to any individual who would spare a moment of their time for the Word of God. She never met a stranger and always extended the love that Jesus extended to us to all those around her. No one ever left her home hungry.
Sue loved God first; behind that love, was the love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was her joy and motivation. If she wasn’t spending time with her family she was enamored in the Word of God.
The absence that Sue leaves behind will resonate with her family and friends, but joy is shared in knowing that she is celebrating with her Lord and Savior, which was her life’s work.
Friends may gather with family from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5th, 2021 at Mounts Funeral Home for a short service and calling hours officiated by Rev. Roger Endicott. Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at Mounts Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Johnson and Rev. Jackie Jessie officiating with special singing by Roger and Judith Browning. Per her request, her remains will be cremated.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Family Healthcare of Gilbert, WV and her provider, John West for their care of Sue over the years.
Masks and social distancing will be required for entrance and during the entirety of the ceremonies.
