Nora Jean (Derifield) Cline, 92, of Hanover, West Virginia departed this life for her Heavenly home on Monday, December 25, 2023, from Logan Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. Born on December 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Derifield and Catherine Luella (Queen) Derifield. She was affectionately known to everyone as, “Granny”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Warren Clinton Cline; her grandson: Chris Cline; and her son-in-law: Mike Robinson. She was also preceded in death by sisters: Mary Ann Terry, Eleanor Tracy, Lucille Jones, and Shirley Derifield; her brother: Charles Derifield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Mackie Cline and wife Mary Sue of Hanover, Luella Robinson of Brenton, and Alberta Stacy and husband Darrick of Hanover; grandsons: Doug & Allison Cline of Hanover, Joe Robinson and wife Lynnetta of Parks, KY, Tracey Cline and wife Heather of Hanover, and Josh Stacy and wife Sarah of Hanover; great grandchildren: Emily, Erica, Krysten, Molley, and Katie Cline, and Sasha, Quentin, Josh and Jayden Moody; sister: Winogene O’Dell of Florida; her grand-dog: Patch, whom she also babysat; her Church Family; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Granny was a member of the Hanover Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved being with her family and especially enjoyed Sunday dinners and special occasions with all of them present. Granny was previously employed with Ken Lu Clothes in Gilbert, where she made sure the girls and guys were outfitted properly making any and all necessary adjustments to dresses and tuxes. She was a seamstress and made uniforms for cheerleading, band, and majorette students attending Baileysville, Iaeger, and Gilbert High Schools. Granny was also a past ‘Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star’.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, beginning at 12PM, with Revs. Jackie Lester and Wayne Addair officiating. Family and friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening, December 28, 2023 from 6-9PM at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, with a special service to be held at 7PM. Burial will follow funeral services at the Mack A. Cline Cemetery, Hanover, WV. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Doug, Joe, Tracey, and Josh; and family friends: Mark Thompson, David Godfrey, Conner Lee, and Kaden Browning. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jerry Cline, Teddy Riffe, Clark Perry, Sammy Walker, Darrick Stacy, Paul Bartram, and Scotty Finley.
