Norma "Babe" Gene (Hatfield) Lester

Norma Gene “Babe” Lester, 87 of Hanover, WV, gained her wings on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.

Born May 25, 1934 at Hanover, WV., she was the daughter of the late Lacy and Deltie (Shannon) Hatfield.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband: James “Jack” Lester; son: Michael “Moose” Hatfield; sisters: Shirley and Imogene Hatfield.

She was a devoted Christian and attended Gilbert Baptist Church, where she sang and played the piano.

She is survived by one niece: Joy Gail (Robert) Steele, whom she made her home with; daughter-in-law: Debbie Hatfield of Gilbert, WV; A special companion: Harold Noe, whom she loved going to church with and going out to dinner. Nieces and nephews: Cindy and Ricky Lusk, Cathy and Jeremy Toler, Kayla Lusk and Mike Coleman. She leaves behind a special care giver whom she loved: Diane Woolum.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, WV. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Lester and Rev. Raymond Lester officiating. Burial Will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at North Springs, WV.

She will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends.

She will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her.
