Orville Douglas "Doug" Parker

Orville Douglas “Doug” Parker, 60 of Bruno, WV departed this life Friday, June 5, 2026, from his residence.

Born April 3, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio he was the son of the late Hewie and Bessie (Grimmett) Parker.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather: Tennis (Dobie) Grimmett; his wife: Melanie (Lester) Parker; sister: Nida Kay Osborne; nephew: Ryan Daniel Root.

Doug was a loving brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He was a very kind and loving man, who worked hard all his life.  He spent many years in Ohio working at Aluminum Smelting Foundries alongside his brothers.  He moved back to West Virginia when our mother got sick.  The later years of his working career were spent driving 18 wheelers, hauling coal.  He enjoyed going on motorcycle rides on his Harley with his brother Charlie and other friends.  He loved spending time with the family at holiday gatherings, or just a simple daily visit.  A few memories for all his nieces and nephews were of him wrestling with them and doing the figure 4 leg lock.  He dressed up as Santa Clause and his niece Kristina was so excited to see Santa, she cried.

Doug will always be missed, remembered and loved by his family and friends.  He was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his brothers: Hewie “Charlie” Parker (Judy) of Chapmanville, WV, James (Sabrina) Parker of Meador, WV; sisters: Joy “Dee” (Bill) Dean of Gilbert, WV, Delora Marcum (Frank) of Chapmanville, WV, Mary Parker of Gilbert, WV; half-sister: Tracy Seneff of Ohio his companion: Della Pennington of Chapmanville, WV; step-daughter: Amanda Passafiume of Ohio; step-son: Chris Lester; nephews: Nick and Josh Dean, Tom and Kevin Blevins, James Ball, Andrew Parker, Justin, and Peyton Parker, Cody Allen; nieces: Candy Elkins, Crystal Parker, Amanda Altizer, Kristina Copley, Amber Grimmett, Jennifer Browning, Malia Parker, Brittany Bryant, Jessica Parker; a special cousin by blood, but a brother by heart: Johnny Gunnoe; special friend: Timmy Lawrence.  He also leaves many great nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 6:00 till 9:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Chester Osborne, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Skyline Cemetery at Justice, WV.

Doug will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Nick and Josh Dean, Andrew Parker, James Ball, Jerry Altizer, and Timmy Lawrence.  Honorary pallbearers are: Bill Dean, Johnny Gunnoe, Charlie Parker, Frank Toney.

The family extends a very special thanks to his companion Della for all the love and care she gave Doug through his illness.  She stood by his side through it all.  She is an Angel sent by God when he needed her most.

We also would like to extend a thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff at Boone Memorial, CAMC MICU, and Dignity Hospice for the care of our brother. We also give thanks to Mounts Funeral Home, and to everyone for the love and prayers for our family.

His wonderful smile and gentle, caring heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
