Pastor Clayton Norman Cline, age 86, of Gilbert West Virginia departed this life to be with our Lord on Friday, October 11, 2024, peacefully at his residence in Gilbert, West Virginia.
Born June 18th, 1938, at Baisden, West Virginia, he is the son of the late Charlie and Susie Cline.
Clayton was a lifelong resident of Gilbert, WV. He obtained a Bachelor of Education at Marshall University, taught school for nine years and eventually became a principal. His profession in the coal mining industry brought him much success as he was CEO of numerous coal corporations with fifty years in the business. He made a significant contribution to his community by building the Four Winds Tabernacle, and the Jammie Darrin Christian Academy. He was Pastor to this church and Headmaster to the school.
Clayton imparted his love of God, family, and life through his ministry, his teachings, and his lifestyle. His legacy will live on through all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-six years Eleanor Cline, his daughter Nora Susan Cline, his son Jammie Darrin Cline; brothers Dillard (Maxine) Cline, Willy (Mary) Cline, Ireland Cline, Charles (Lee) Cline, Curly Ray (Verda) Cline; sisters Margerat (Ezra) Cline, Bobbie (Ermel) Roberson, and Geraldine (Billy) Robinson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Denise Adams Cline; children Lisa Cline Bailey, Anthony (Johnna) Cline, and Stephanie (Keith) Dotson; stepchildren Allison (Ben) Cates, and Josh (Bethany) Johnson; grandchildren Caleb (Cortney) Cline, Autumn Cline (John Hatfield), Brandi (Jimmy) Williamson, Clay (Amber) Mounts, Trinity (Kim) Dotson, Mathew (Destiny) Dotson, Brody Dotson, Journey Dotson, Whitney (Devon) Poe, Destinee Cline, Nicholas Cline, Levi Cates, and Rhett Cates; great grandchildren Ireland Cline, Isla Cline, Aspen Cline, Chaz Williamson, Calisa Williamson, Cymiah Williamson, Celijah Williamson, Adalyn Poe, Amara Mounts, and Maverick Dotson.
Clayton’s family extends its heartfelt thanks to his special caregivers Manley Cline, Cynthia Hatfield, Betty Colangelo, Brenda Killen, Brenda Mounts, Dignity Hospice & Home Health Care, and his grandsons Trinity Dotson, Nicholas Cline, and Brody Dotson. Thank you for all your love and support.

Visitation services will be from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Four Winds Tabernacle, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, with funeral service Friday, October 18, 2024, at noon, at the Four Winds Tabernacle, located at 2816 US-52, Justice WV,
