Patricia Pauline (Hatfield) Kennedy, 56 of Browning Fork, Gilbert, WV departed this life Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born August 6, 1963 at Logan, WV, she was the daughter of the late Betty (Hatfield) and Wallie Hatfield, Jr.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband: Fleming Kennedy, Jr; brother: Gary Lee Hatfield; maternal grandparents: Jess and Mary Hatfield; paternal grandparents: Wally and Maude Hatfield; also a host of aunts, uncles, and other family members.
Patricia was a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and fellowshipping with her church family. She also, enjoyed sewing and cooking, whereas, we never had to worry about food for a church dinner, she fixed enough food to feed an army. She never turned others away that were in need. For example, standing in any kind of weather to take up donations for any situation that she knew about, mowing lawns for others, cutting weeds, anything she felt people needed, she was always there. Trish was “Mawmaw” to a host of children, making sure the children knew how much she loved them. She was an Angel to us here at the funeral home. She was constantly looking out for us, cooking food, and bringing it to Hoppy and his employees. Trish will always be remembered for being a blessing to everyone and helping others in times of need. Words are not enough to express how everyone felt about Trish and her family, they have all been a blessing and help to so many.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Trish, and to mourn her passing are her sister: Tammy (Clayton) Riffe of Hanover; brothers: Douglas Wally (Cynthia) Hatfield, Donald Lane “Bimbo” Hatfield, Homer Glen (Jan Lester) Hatfield, all of Browning Fork, Larry Randall (Lolita) Hatfield of Mohawk; step sons: Gary (Robin) Kennedy, Douglas (Terri) Kennedy, all of Hanover and Randy (Patsy) Kennedy of Brenton; special nephew: Joshua Layne Hatfield of Browning Fork; uncle: Arnold Hatfield of Browning Fork. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, June 26, 2020 from 12 till 2:00 pm in the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence for her and her brother Gary Lee "Bub" Hatfield at 2:00 pm with their Pastor Diamond Carter and Rev. Lowell Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery at Browning Fork, Gilbert, WV. Trish will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.
Her wonderful smile, gentle heart, and her laughter will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her. She may be gone, but never forgotten.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
V-7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
V-8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
