Patsy Gay (Glanden) Carter

Patsy Gay Carter, 79 of Baisden took her Heavenly Flight on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from her residence.

She was born August 25, 1942 in Baisden, WV, the daughter of the late Fred and Verna (Thompson) Glanden.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Carter; brother: Hubert Glanden; sisters: Judy Glanden, Sandra Sims, Bernice Henderson, Glenda Glanden; son-in-law; Buell E. Ellis, III.

Patsy was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved traveling and attending church, working in her garden and telling everyone about her grandbabies. She was a member of the Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her daughter: Andrea Ellis of Baisden, WV; son: Timothy (Patricia) Carter of Orlando Florida; grandsons: Christian, Cameron, and Collin Carter of Orlando Florida. special niece/daughter: Angela Sims of Baisden, WV. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear friends and relatives.

Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 6-9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, WV. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Jim Nagy, Elders Richard Staten, Freddy Cline and Gary Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Glanden Cemetery at Baisden, WV.

Patsy will be carried to her resting place by active pallbearers: Jonathan Lester, Jacob Lockard, Blake West, Nathaniel Ellis, Braxton Ellis, Billy Ray Lester, Ronnie Mounts, and Justin Harrison; Honorary pallbearers: Johnnie Mounts, James “Buttons” Henderson, Dencil Glanden, Danny Joe West, Lee Ellis, Pastor Jim Nagy, Charles “Timer” May, Jay Lockard and Frank Porter.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
