Peggy Diane (Jude) Steele

Peggy Diane Steele, 66 of Gilbert, departed this life Thursday, April 1, 2021 from her residence.

Born February 23, 1955 at Welch, WV she was the daughter of the late John and Lexie (Stanley) Jude.

In addition to her parents, Diane is also preceded in death by her husband: Robert Steele; son: Robert Owen Steele; brother: John Jude.

Diane was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.  She was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her brothers: Roy (Cheryl) Jude, Walter (Carol) Jude, all of Gilbert; sister: Patsy Jude of Horsepen; grandchildren: Maria, Robert (Bud) and Elysa Steele, all of New York; nieces: Heather Jude, Kimberly Ooten, Becky (Craig) Kennedy, Shanna Lester, Rachel Bailey (Geoff), all of Gilbert; nephews: Keith (Samantha) of Hanover, Anthony (Turtle) and Michelle, of Iaeger, John Jude of Gilbert; great nieces: Amber and Jessica Bailey of Gilbert, Madisyn and Kinzie Jude, Brianna Lester, all of Hanover, special great niece and helper Haley Kennedy of Gilbert; great nephews: Chris Kennedy, Brayden Lester, Landon Ooten, all of Gilbert, Preston Jude, Brently and Jaxton Lester, all of Hanover, Ashton and Kole Jude of Iaeger and Byron Jude of Gilbert Creek.  She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.

A special thank you to her two aunts: Martha Adkins and Naomi Harrison for all of their help, love and support.

Friends may gather with the family Monday, April 5, 2021 after 6:00 pm at the Justice Community Church where funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Gary Walker officiating.

Burial will follow in the Jude Family Cemetery in the Ned’s Branch section of Gilbert, WV.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
