Ranse Shawn Cline, 29, of Mohawk, WV passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Born December 11, 1995, he was the son of the late Erick and Greta Cline.
Ranse was a true man of the mountains. An avid hunter and fisherman, who was always the happiest with a rod in his hand or deep in the woods. For Ranse, the outdoors wasn’t just a past time; it was a way of life and a source of happiness and peace.
Ranse shared his life with his loving wife, Amanda. Who was not only his partner but his best friend and biggest supporter. Their bond was built on love, respect, and many shared dreams. By his side through countless adventures was his precious “Fur-daughter” Chloe Belle, his loyal companion and constant source of comfort.
Another special person and big supporter of Ranse was his “Ol Man” (grandpa), Don West. The bond they shared was inseparable and he will always be Paws Boy.
At a young age, Ranse was able to start his company, Mountain Man Trucking, LLC. He took great pride in his business and was proud of his accomplishments. He was an amazing husband and supporter of his wife’s business, Southern Sass Boutique and Gifts, LLC. Although he didn’t run the shop, he always insisted that he was half owner.
Ranse is survived by his loving wife, Amanda, his cherished dog Chloe; grandparents: Don “Crockett” and Rhonda West, Mary and Bill Hooper, all of Baisden, WV; his in-laws: Ronnie and Gaynell Cline of Mohawk, WV and Brice and Lisa Hickman of Lexington, SC; special cousin, who was more like a sister: Caity (Matt) Kennedy and their children, Jerzee and Gideon, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, acquaintances, and many friends.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 6:00 till 9:00pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home to honor the life of an amazing man taken too soon, but he will never be forgotten. A celebration of Ranse’s life will commence there at the chapel on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 1:00pm with Pastors Jonas “Joe Peck” Trent and Mervin White officiating. Burial will follow in the Cline/Trent Cemetery at Spring Fork, Wharncliffe, WV.
Ranse will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Kevin Goad, Jeremy May, Matt Kennedy, David Breeding, Bartley and Brett Hatfield, Bradley Blair, Dillon Ellis, Elliott, Allen, and Brandon Cline. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Cline, Don West, Rob Grimmett, Eddie Dotson, Eddie Chapman, Kenneth Blevins, Milton Johnson, and June Bug Bailey.
In the stillness of the woods and the ripples of the water, we will feel his presence always. Rest in peace, Ranse, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Those who knew Ranse will remember his quiet strength, kind heart, and his deep loyalty to those he cared for.
Special thanks to Jeremy May and Larry “Bean” Cline for all they have done and for making Ranse’s last fishing trip full of happiness.
He will forever live on in our hearts.
